What is Color Fastness to Chlorinated Water?

Chlorinate water mainly refers to disinfectant water and swimming pool water. The colour fastness test of chlorinated water is used to evaluate the colour-fastness to chlorinated water of all kinds of dyeing, printing or other coloured textiles. The key to the colour-fastness test of chlorinated water is the preparation of chlorinated water concentration, and the requirement of chlorine concentration is different according to different standards, and the effective chlorine concentration in AATCC 162 standard is 5 mg / L.

Principle

The yarn or fabric is stirred in diluted chlorinated water at a specified temperature, PH, time and corresponding conditions. After drying, evaluate the colour change of the sample.

Sample Preparation

The sample size is about 60mm*60mm and the total weight is 5.0±0.25 g. If the sample is less than 5.0g, make the total weight is 5.0 g by adding more than one sample. Samples of different colours can be mixed and tested.

Operating Procedure

Clean the dry cleaning container: add about 5000ml distilled water and 0.5ml Clorox (available chlorine concentration is 5.25%) or the same amount of sodium hypochlorite solution. Close the container, run for 10 minutes, and pour out the solution. (if the container has been filled with other reagents or have not been used for two weeks, it must be cleaned.)

Solution preparation: make hardness concentrate as required, and dilute hardness concentrate with distilled water or deionized water, which prepare a solution with an effective chlorine concentration of 5 ppm, the salt concentration of 10ppm. Adjust water temperature to 21 ℃, and adjust pH value to 7.0 with sodium carbonate or acetic acid.

Test method: put test sample and control sample in container, cover and run for 60 minutes. After the test, take out the sample and control sample, remove the excess solution with the mill, rinse thoroughly with the distilled water, remove the excess water again, and dry it by the bleached paper with good absorbability at room temperature.
